Motor's probs f***ed ... eats oil, but can't see any leaks & no smoke?

Possibly the rings or valves so worst case is either engine rebuild or new engine. Why is this happening!! only 138400km on the clock. :'(

I've got a brand new engine that theres nothing wrong with and it eats oil, just about to put an air oil seperator as mines leaving the engine as oil vapour from the head breathers and crank case. check inside the intake/intercooler, check to see how much is making it in there

Wondered why it hasnt sold.

I feel sad for you. I would eat it in a heartbeat if insurance wouldn't dig me an early grave.

Insurance for it is cheaper than you think. It has no mods that Southsure and AMI and the like wouldnt insure. Ive never had a prob with it...in fact its cheaper to insure than my old hiace and my current legacy.

I'd say its the colour too its a nice car but very personal colour choice. You can wrap the car for 500 dollars if you do it yourself. I can send link on where to buy the wrap from. plus the present economy doesn't help.

But at what rpm is the question

been following some of the comments surrounding abduls torque figures. on a factory head and the GT3071 at 20psi i was making 270kw odd and about 440nM of torque, on a dyna pack (but a different dyno) to abdul.

I think you're most on the right track re whats going on. Here's my thoughts.

Yes his torque figures are low, and kw for the boost required. In my own opinion the 272 cams are oversized for the application and by nature they will shift the power curve a lot to the right over factory configuration. He's also said there is a boost leak and that will significantly reduce its torque delivery if you cant get the turbo to come on. Thus the power will also shift to the right.

Given power is a derivative of torque, i bet you its making torque along way to the right, and therefore the corresponding power figures are also quite low.

Imo it should be making something in the 460-480 and 280-300kw's at 25psi given the extensive headwork in his car. all be it still further to the right than the other two gt30 curves i have as reference.

my 2c.

Be interesting to see what mine does then as my cams are 277 pretty much IN and EX. If it doesn't suit I guess I will change them for close to the original spec Brian Crower 256.

luke has a kelford 256 replacement cam, almost no noticeable difference except about 4000, brings his turbo on like a shower of shit.. they are grous.

I would only ever aim for a 264 IN EX tops for track work. and perhaps a 1mm oversize exhaust valve. 27x shift the power to far up the curve for my liking, the bigger turbo will already send it to the right enough.

and a power band from 7000rpm to 8000rpm

street car = don't mess with the cams, you'll ruin it

race car = spec the cams for the turbo and application

mention of a one off rpm position peak torque and power means nothing. RMS makes a car fast. haven't seen the dyno plot yet so there's nothing to judge* how it is actually performing

*for interests sake only. i'm sure you're just happy to have it going and going well, especially with more gusto than 95% of all other cars on the road

Max power at 6500rpm

Max torque at 6000rpm

I did expect that because of what funky mentioned earlier and 2L engine!

But even now with bigger turbo, car is more drivable than before!

There would be few tweaks but probably by the start of next year, now I just wanna enjoy having the car :D

a massively high peak torque rpm can be a result of cams and exhaust housing. whether or not it's a problem for power delivery is only relevant when considered against torque throught the entire range. with a 400nm peak it could very well be (unlikely) 380nm at 2000rpm, or on the flipside 150nm at 5000rpm

i think funky means the peak torque rpm (as opposed to peak torque itself) will plummet once you sort wastegate out. i would agree. i imagine the torque at 6000rpm won't change, but it should increase beyond that at 4500 (unless cams are a bigger factor for high rpm)

Finally had a good chase to look over the new car and figure out what needs to be done, so far fixed the loose clutch pedal, put all the firewall bungs back in, changed the steering wheel back to the oringal sparco wheel and lowered the back 25mm so it sits level, next mission is to fix the exhaust leak, clean the air filter and then figure out why the block breather is leaking

Ryan (RYN), and I changed rear brake pads on both of our Blitzens this arvo. The only way to describe the fiasco that unfolded would be comapring it to 2 chimpanzes trying to solve a rubiks cube, with broken fingers. Lol.

Thanks though for the help and opportunity to learn though mate, much appreciated. As for the tosser on Youtube that says it's a quick and easy job etc, I'm gonna hunt you down and club you like a baby seal.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
