Replaced ECU temp sensor while I had belts off (also from Armstrong)

Purchased full Cambelt kit from Armstrongs; Belt, Idlers, Tensioner, Waterpump, Cam seals and Thermostat. Now just need to find the time to fit it all!

How much did the kit cost you, just curious as I\'m waiting on a price from Wingers.

Well where do i start...

Drove car yesterday and pulled up at her work, give her keys and say, the radiator is leaking, dont give it jandal...

On way home she give it the jandal...

So we rescue her on side of motorway (thanks tot he guys who towed her to Ohoka Rd overpass...

Drop at Autotech Rangiora, new header tank, noice and the clutch master cylinder is got poos seals causing it not to work nice... f**king great... vapour lock

Oh well at least it has been a loyal old beast not breaking down

So this car strikes again

Clutch master cylinder is fooked. They ordered 2 different units - both are wrong (using part numbers from Subaru...)

Cost to rebuild/refurb the POS is between $165 & $228 +GST, new one $248 +GST... Refurb is 2 days away, new one here tomorrow

Guess its a new then...

Oil change on Hilux, fucking disaster. Left it to drain, bastard overflowed the tray and made a mess of the driveway. For some fucked reason there was about 8L of oil in there, turns out it wasnt leaking as much as I thought, shouldn\'t have topped it off so often. Sump is swapped so dipstick means nothing.

Then after cleaning that up, the troglodyte at Repco had given me the wrong filter. Gears ground.

should be able to get dipstick to suit, or has the sump been modded, should still be able to find something.

The location of the dipstick in the block was changed so the length is more or less arbitrary. Eventually I\'ll find a good level then mark the dipstick myself.

Yup went from VF23 to VF22, exact same car with no changes except colder plugs put in on the dyno yesterday after it developed a miss. It was done on the same dyno about 4000 km between tunes. I forgot to grab a dyno sheet as we had a few issues on the dyno. I will grab one next week.

To be fair its made 198kw vs. 201kw last time and a few tweaks were made after the 201kw tune so it may be close to exactly the same. It feels significantly quicker real world however.

My tuner was quite surprised it didnt make more power, we both were. I am looking at options for something different next year while keeping the turbo in stock location. Looking into Scoodyclinic turbos as I have wanted one for ages and a few cheaper options. Might even try and arrange to swap some turbos on the dyno and compare. See how things go.

Guess you have been to see keith..

Does it pull cleanly through the revs on the road now or is there hesitation..?

It pulls really nicely now.

To be completely clear even though the number is smaller this feels much more powerful to drive. Its an interesting situation. I never leave Keiths disappointed, informative, helpful and safe but real world quick tunes.

Is it you who is going back for a tidy up tune before Sept trackday Pedro? I think Keith mentioned it was you going back for a look over your tune.

Took car for a drive with new coolant sensor - much more linear response when cold and part-throttle. No more surging and hesitation :)

Smiled cos it\'s not making the scraping noise from idler any more.

Cleaned pollen off car....then cleaned dusty engine bay with hose and dust-pan brush - amazing how much dust and grime accumulates under-hood!

Closed eyes and started engine (expecting a CEL cos I wet everything)....smiled again cos it didn\'t miss a beat!

Winning :)

Yeah it is, I was planning 3-4 Hours tops. nice easy retune... To be fair though if it wasnt for the issues with it missing and me wanting to try Launch control I would have been out of there by 1 o\'clock.

How did you find the launch control? You got a screenshot of the settings he used?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
