i was putting it in the Mrs car before it sold. I did do the screws up before I noticed it was upside down though...

f**k me subanoodle, they sexy as hell

got an update on the car. apparently, cometic has no gaskets available, neither does cosworth, or subaru australia, nz or japan to suit my specific block in 1.2mm. there is in 0.6mm, but then things get f**ky with comp. ratios and that sort of thing. soooo, apparently, subaru japan is in the process of assembling a s**t-tonne more head-gaskets for the 2.0 sti GRB, and should be here early next week. over it, just want my f**king car back.

bit pissed off that the loan cars on offer are a "Collect in the morning, return in the evening" arrangement, which is a fat load of help to a tradie who's having to take the motorbike to and from worksites. plus hidden costs, things like "oh we'll just put the old cam-belt back on unless the customer requests otherwise" but it's not part of the rebuild cost... getting frustrated. not like i'm going to the uk in 2 weeks or anything...

Got it delivered to my house after Spec Performance have been looking after it for me

The blue line is my old setup with a td05 on a pretty basic motor (gtb heads).

The green line was when I put on the Holset HX35 on that same motor and it had a single scroll up pipe feeding the twin scroll turbine. Very sluggish to come on boost and it just peaked and fell off quickly.

Pretty happy with the outcome. It's no longer peaky and in need of a tonne of revs to get things happening. The boost comes on really fast and the torque feels like it holds nicely right through the much wider powerband. It's only got standard V3 STI RA cams which are apparently holding it back from making better power in the higher boost settings.

Wooohh congrats been a while coming. So full t/s now? Not a lot of fruit for 5 extra psi. Almost looks a little like boons issue. Plenty of people making good power with same cams in uk. Wasnt rac running v3 sti cams or was it v4?

Can't remember what RAC was running. I think it may have been the same ones. Not sure if changing the cam timing could help it breathe more but the jump from 15psi to 19psi gives about the same power increase as the next jump from 19psi to 24psi. Might explore it one day but I doubt I'll be changing the cams any time soon.

And yep, it's twin scroll now (controversially with just a single wastegate.....haha).

I can't remember (was probably 3 years ago when I timed then) and I also can't find my notebook. From memory I was aiming to have them at the stock timing. Had adjustable pulleys on it to make sure that I could get them balanced side to side. I do remember having to change the two on the drivers side, most likely due to everything having been machined, messing up the distance from one side to the other.
