Dumb Question Thread!

Not to sound like a broken record, but have a yarn to the guys at STM - they've had a good nosey at both the NZDM (2.5) and JDM (2.0) models.

As I understand it, if you want to mod it and make it fast, the 2.0 JDM one is probably the one to go for. If you want to just take it and drive it (and probably have a nicer daily drive) the 2.5 NZDM is the way to go.

What will your plans be with the car? The 2.5L = EJ257 and 2.0L = EJ207.

<250-260wkw 2.5L - Great low end torque, fairly strong motor although they dont like alot of timing haha

Anything above 250kw get the 2L, revs higher(8k redline) and the internals are a tad bit stronger then 2.5l.

I've spoken to STM, they have worked on both, 2.0 appears quicker out of the box, but Doug likes the 2.5 as it has more displacement and torque, plus they can buy goodies from Aus and US as they have the same model.

They just finished a stage 3 upgrade on a NZDM one, with HKS turbo kit and Process West top mount… as front mounts are tricky due to new impact laws and airbags etc plus they dont have much room.

Overall no downsides with either car...hmm homework required

Idea is to go to one car, wife looks like she has sold hers, so unless she likes the Spec C, I'll be looking for something newer for her as a daily and for me on weekends. She travels about 1km a day tsk!

Ideally looking for something I can modify over time.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
