Did a first service on my WRX since i\'ve owned it(since september) Pretty sure the lady who had it before me only put water in the radiator and also BOTH radiator fans were unplugged so whoever did the cambelt on it last obviously forgot to plug them back in. Wondered why the temp would sky rocket on a hot day :\'( However now its running all good now

Decided to go with the Penrite 10w-50 in the end. Asked a few Subaru mechanics and specialists and they said it would be all good. What do you all use?

Check out the old Air Filter though! Its like king kong farted into it

Now she is running alot nicer since the service and it is definitely MUCH better with a new air filter.

I use the same oil - seems to work fine for me - stable oil pressures even on a warm day. Might just be me but do notice a little more valve train noise just off idle but goes away as quickly as it starts as rpm builds could be my stupid clutch tho - anyone else noticed anything (150k B4 engine?

Not trying to dig up old threads about consumer products or anything but I was warned off any after market oil filters due to primary turbo \'limitations\' on the twins: opinions?

You know that aftermarket filters are manufactured to meet or exceed OE spec right? So if you are using an equivalent filter rather than the wrong one you will have no problems unless it fails.

Obviously if changed out in a reasonable period.

Have any of you seen the new High Efficiency filters ryco sell? They are really good. They are higher in quality and have more filtration and still have the anti drain back but in a more efficient way.

Heres one from Supercheap. This filter is not really for subarus but they are slowly rolling out more HE filters for different cars. So far they have Ford, Holden, Toyota, Mitsubishi etc

Tbh if your filter is getting so full of bad stuff in 5,000km\'s that it stops working properly, you may have bigger issues :)

My bigger issue is that my race car is my daily driver.

Motor still goes.

=P

Was referring to people stressing over which filter to use as opposed to your use case :)

Pro tip, the Link IAT sensor is flimsy as sh!t.

I changed mine out for a brass-bodied one from a Holden/GM (they\'re like $4 at pickapart, go take a bunch off some manifolds) they just require a much larger thread.

Got the GM one new. Was $50 odd then just had a boss made.

Wish we had a pickapart. What models had them?

VN Commode V6, Some Astras and Vectras around that era. Easier to get from a 4-pot motor, the V6\'s you have to remove the drivers side fuel rail and injectors (claw hammer, lol pickapart) to get at it. They also have a GM map sensor bolted to the middle of the firewall. Thread is M14x1.5

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
