got my car back from richard, shocks serviced, cracked breathers replaced, avcs checked. its like a new car... almost. time to get my new defi gauges installed

I replaced my 15mm sway bar for 19mm sti one and it works a treat!!! Its my very first performance enhancing mod and im very very happy .

Damn. At least you're one person who'll do a good job of it. 5th gens seem to be a bit of a hit or miss in the styling department.

Not an easy mission and rather expensive as I've found out already  

 

Would you know the specs of a NZ new 2.5 spec.B? Turbo, twin/single scroll etc, I'm struggling to find any info

Thought I caught a glimpse of a hood scoop there. Dunno on that one, would say it'd be a single scroll VF54 at a guess.

All low mounted for 5th gens too so way less effort fluffing around with headers/uppipes/downpipes and better response, in theory atleast.

 

You move those ohlins shocks to the new one?

I noticed the turbo is not where it used to be  

 

Front Ohlins are in (thanks god! such a boat in stock form), only needed to swap the top hats. Rear ones are not as easy and will require a bit of trickery as bottom bushing takes smaller diameter bolt and the bushing itself protrudes by about 5mm or so on each side. Same as GR/GH/SH and BRZ I believe. Yet to measure if the bushing itself is the same diameter (win-win situation), if so I might get AJ subirex to swap them over for me. Front Brembos/braided lines are also in, yet to see if the rear setup will pose any issues. I know GRB brembos are straight bolt-on.

No, I believe 2.5i are CVT. 2.5GT and 3.6R are 5AT.

+1, NZ and JDM are, i think the US version they only had CVT or 6 speed Manual

 

Know the pain of finding anything in NZ to modify this car much, My old BH5 there was so much to chose from

Thought i'd get another 6 months out of the tyres at least, but developed a rather rapid leak after flatnats and tyre companys wont fix it as they are pretty borderline tyres.

Finally repainted my bonnet scoop after accidentally stripping the paint at a wash world a few years back. Came up alright

Drove it to waihi, picked up a pair of headlights, drivers window controller and a MINT blue interior carpet. Got em for a farkin steal.

 

Thursday avo I got a new set of re003's, found out I have 2 rims with a bit of a buckle in em, so on the hunt for a set of v7 sti sedan rims rather ahead of when I planned.

 

Got a few other goodies to go in, starting with some sharptones that arrived today. Progressing....
